Production Insight
The idea for this project has come from several avenues, including FSF MD Daniel’s connections with the fan base – with his step-brother being one of the key organisers of the fan protests. Sheffield Wednesday’s story has been an interesting one for a number of years, but has shifted up a few gears this year with the actions of the owner, Mr Chansiri. As one of the UK’s oldest football clubs, and once one of it’s biggest, continues to struggle off the pitch the fans have taken matters into their own hands – courting potential buyers for the club, boycotting cup games, not being kit or food/drink from the club and organising protests. Their activities have been supported by other clubs and fan bases including Wrexham, Leicester City and Portsmouth. As their story unfolds – we are with them capturing it.
The final product is still to be decided upon, with the potential for being commissioned/sold into UK TV, or for delivery as an online mimi series. In order to build a home for the content we have started a new YouTube channel called Beyond The Result, where we plan to create, develop and deliver a range of new content streams from across sport, which will showcase the power of sport to transform, inspire and inform.
