Wayne Barton wanted to publicise his new book ‘Manchester United After Munich’ by releasing a never before heard interview with United hero Harry Gregg, talking through his experiences on that fateful night.

The YouTube description for the video reads: “…that was Munich. That was Munich.” Harry Gregg is one of the greatest names in Manchester United history. He was one of the finest goalkeepers of his day and his legacy was immortalised as a hero when he saved lives and rescued bodies from the wreckage of the Munich Air Disaster. In this never-before-heard interview recorded decades before his death, Gregg recounts in harrowing and heartbreaking detail the events of the day. This interview features in the new book Manchester United After Munich, published on November 6th, available here in hardback, Kindle and audiobook. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rebuilding-M…

  • We worked with Wayne to understand the tone and feel of the video he waned to create from the audio he had. With a sensitive subject like Munich, we wanted to ensure that this harrowing first person experience of that terrible evening wasn’t saturated with images that deflected from Harry’s own words. We worked through an idea to use one key image of Harry that we felt reflected his mood, and then to sparingly use images to paint a picture for what he was saying.
  • We chose music that we felt enhanced the emotion of the story and never overpowered it.
